Our Goals
Michigan Citizens for Palestinian Rights/Palestine Cultural Office is committed to:
- Preserving and instilling pride in Palestinian culture and heritage among Palestinian Americans.
- Working for fair and accurate media coverage of Palestinian issues.
- Providing educational resources to community leaders and elected officials regarding Palestinian rights and culture.
- Uniting efforts with Arab American organizations and other local peace and justice groups, who share our vision.
- Facilitating provision of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian territories and the Diaspora.
Our Start
The Palestine Cultural Office was founded in 2004 by a group of peace and justice activists dedicated to bringing the cause of Palestine, its people, and culture, to the attention of the American public, as well as providing information and educational resources to community leaders, and federal, state, and local legislators regarding Palestine.
In addition to imparting information and critical analyses regarding the Israeli Occupation and other aspects of Palestinian rights, the Palestine Cultural Office sponsors and facilitates peacemaking missions to the Occupied Territories and participates in other forms of community activism.
A critical focus of the Office's mission is reaching out to human rights, faith-based, labor, and minority organizations in an effort to build a united constituency for peace and justice in Palestine. |
